Description: Slick and shiny pomade looks are timeless and will always be one of our favorites. But not every style nor every hair type wants or needs the greasy stuff.
Reuzel to the rescue with a pair of matte hair goos. This one starts smooth and creamy in the hands and drying out to add a ton of thickness and hold for that perfectly clean, "dirty hair feel." The mint scent of the Clay and Fiber are quite popular, but if you're looking for a matte product with a sunnier scent, this one smells like what they call sugary rum, but we think it has some pina colada-type action going on. It's quite nice but not overpowering.
Brand: Created by the scumbag godfathers of modern old school barbering, Schorem Haarsnijder En Barbier in Rotterdam, Netherlands, the name Reuzel is dutch for lard, a nod to the old days of pomade when the stuff was made from animal fat.
Directions: Unlike Reuzel's water- and oil-based pomades, a little dab will do ya with the matte products. Remove a small amount from tin and emulsify in the palms. Apply to very well towel dried or blow dried hair with a light touch, adding a little more product if desired to achieve the hold level you want. Use a wide-toothed comb or your fingers to style hair into final shape.
