From the Artist:

"I am an artist residing in Dekalb, IL. I teach drawing, photography and ceramics at Naperville Central High School. Though I have a full-time job, I try to do as much freelance and personal work as possible. I recently have been working on a series of illustrations using a variety of acrylic inks. I have previously worked making gig posters with Chicago-based band, Mooner, and have made a poster for the video-game company, The Yetee. Most recently, I have been trying my hand at screen-printing my own artwork to put up for sale.

I have been drawing since I can remember. Comic books were a huge inspiration for me in my younger years, as I would draw countless sketches of Spider-Man on my worksheets and homework.

More recently my inspirations have been widely varied, but a few major artists who’ve inspired me include Edward Gorey, Albrecht Durer, and Hayao Miyazaki. I’m really interested in the themes that revolve around life, religion, accepting death, and understanding our place in the natural world.

I also create short films and videos, and have worked with The Yetee.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my work, and feel free to check out more at my website, www.gregorypadgett.com."
