Introducing • Shave Oils
Posted on June 15 2018
In the beginning, River Peak Apothecary was just about beards.
Then when we realized we had everything on hand to feed Blademaiden's lip balm addiction, we started making those collectible, craveable, seasonal lip butters.
Now, with the creation of these barber favorite shave oils (two years in development for these beauties, because we are the pickiest barbers ever), we are going for the throat. Metaphorically.
While you can technically shave with any old carrier oil, our oils blend in varieties and proportions where each ingredient supports and enhances the others.
This blend features light and easily-absorbed Grapeseed oil, rich and nourishing Ricebran, Sesame and Jojoba oils, and the slick glide of Castor and Avocado oils to create the kind of shave approved by a shop full of barbers, and all the faces they shave.
Our beard goods flow through all the seasons, but for shave oils we pared it down to just the warm months and just the cool.
Magewick is our summer shave oil, featuring skin-loving Calendula, imparting a warm glow to the deep, rich incense of Dark Patchouli and Sandalwood. The grassy citrus of Palmarosa brightens the blend, while the renowned Helichrysum cares for freshly shaved skin.
Strongfell was made for winter, with cool, calming, earthy herbs like Blue Tansy, Sage, Rosemary and Cistus over fragrant, resinous coals of Frankincense and Myrrh.
And now, Gaardians, consider yourself armed with the weapons necessary for the taming of your face. Go forth and slather yourself in goos of the scents of the seasons.
